How Telehealth Functional Medicine Works in Washington & Idaho

Wondering whether you can really get root-cause functional medicine care without sitting in a waiting room? You can. For most of our patients, telehealth means more access to their clinician, not less.

Here is exactly how it works at Evergreen Longevity & Functional Medicine.

Step 1: A Free Discovery Call

We start with a 15-minute phone call to understand your health concerns and goals and to make sure we are the right fit. No obligation and no pressure, just an honest conversation.

If we are not the right clinic for what you need, we will tell you on this call rather than take your money first.

Step 2: An In-Depth New Patient Consultation

Your first full visit runs 1.5 to 3 hours by video. We review your complete health history, your symptoms, prior labs, medications, and what you want your health to look like.

This is the unhurried conversation most people have never had with a doctor. Patients often tell us it is the first time anyone has asked when they last felt well.

Step 3: Comprehensive Lab Testing Near You

We order labs at a draw site convenient to you, wherever you are in Washington or Idaho. You do not drive to Spokane for a blood draw.

Some testing is done with kits mailed to your home, including certain hormone, stool, and genetic tests. You collect the sample and mail it back.

We tell you the cost before we order anything. Our cash prices are often lower than a typical insurance copay, and we can send blood work through your insurance if you prefer.

Step 4: Your Results and Your Plan

We go through your results together on video, screen shared, so you can see what we are looking at. You learn what each marker means and why it matters for you.

Then we build the plan: what to change, what to take, what to stop, and in what order. You get it in writing so you are not relying on memory.

Step 5: Follow-Up and Adjustment

This is where telehealth genuinely beats the waiting room. You can message us between visits, and responses typically come within the hour. When you message us, a licensed clinician answers, not a health coach.

We check in weekly until you feel better, then less often as things stabilize. Follow-up labs usually come at six to eight weeks so we can adjust based on evidence rather than guesswork.

What Comes to Your Door

Prescriptions go to your preferred pharmacy, including compounding pharmacies for hormone therapy and LDN. Supplements are ordered through our online dispensary and shipped to you, with member pricing.

When You Do Need to Come In

We see every patient by telehealth except for aesthetics and procedures. For those, you come to our office on Garland Avenue in Spokane.

If you need a physical exam, imaging, or a procedure we cannot do remotely, we will tell you and help you arrange it locally.

Is Telehealth Right for You?

It works well if you live outside Spokane, have a schedule that makes daytime appointments hard, deal with fatigue that makes travel costly, or simply want more contact with your clinician.

It is not right for emergencies. If you are having chest pain, trouble breathing, or symptoms of a stroke, call 911.

Licensing and Privacy

We are licensed in Washington and Idaho and can only treat patients located in those states. You need to be physically in one of them at the time of your visit.

Visits are conducted over a secure, private connection. All you need is a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a quiet spot.

What You Can Do to Get More Out of It

A few things make telehealth visits work better. Gather your past lab results before your first visit, including anything from the last few years. Write down your medications and supplements with doses. Note when your symptoms started and what makes them better or worse.

Take the visit somewhere quiet where you can talk openly. Have a notepad, or ask us to send the plan in writing, which we do anyway.

Common Concerns

Will I get less thorough care? The visit is longer than most in-person appointments and the lab work is broader. The main thing we cannot do remotely is lay hands on you, and we arrange that locally when it is needed.

What if I am not good with technology? The link opens in your browser. There is nothing to install, and we will walk you through it if it gives you trouble.

If you have been putting off care because the drive was too long or nobody had time for your questions, book a free 15-minute call and we will walk you through it.
